Legend has it, if musicians spend enough time around the roaring waters of Niagara Falls, they end up making music in various shades of blue. Brandon Agnew is an independent roots musician. His songwriting is inspired by life in Ontario and shaped by time spent in cities like New Orleans, Memphis and Buffalo.
His 2021 release, 'Mave's Variety', was recorded at Banquet Sound Studio (Owner: Nick Boyd - Hollerado, Anyway Gang) in Toronto with Producer, Joseph Stracuzzi featuring the singles, "Bulletproof" and "Angie's Blues".
In 2022, he played 40 original shows, including the Niagara Falls Night of Art. In 2023 he shared the stage with Wax Mannequin, Mariel Buckley and A Sea of Gold & Burgundy.
His newest album, 'Aquarius Moon', was released on February 14, 2024 featuring the single, "Gasoline On A Flame". The album was written during the winter of 2020/21 during the pandemic.
He is nearing completion on a bluesy 4-song EP with his new band, The Night Shadows. 'Hamilton', a folk-based album dedicated to the city that saved his life, is also in pre-production.
Brandon performs regularly throughout Ontario and is often joined by banjo player, Dave Matthews. He lives in St. Catharines with his partner, Jess, and their orange cat, Gemelli. He is a member of Folk Music Ontario and the Niagara Artists Centre.
